There are several wonderful social events planned for the conference
beginning with the Tuesday night reception at the Hilton Hotel as
part of the registration. Tickets for non-participants are available (See registration on this web site.)
On Wednesday evening the Welcome Reception will be held at the Hilton Hotel. Tickets for non-participants are available (see Registration on this web site.)
On Friday, conference members and companions will bused south of
Santa Fe to Rancho de Las Golondrinas ,
a spanish colonial living history museum. Visitors will
experience demonstrations
of work on the ranch and have leisure time to
explore the many aspects of life in New Mexico during the 18th and 19th
century. Snacks will be available for purchase; the included lunch will
have several options including vegetarian. You will hear traditional Spanish folksongs and
enjoy a flamenco dance performance.
Friday night both the El Dorado Hotel and the Hilton Hotel will host the poster session.
Saturday evening conference members and companions who choose to
attend will be bused five miles north of Santa Fe to Bishops Lodge for
a gala evening at the Conference Banquet on the Lodge grounds. A superb banquet will be served by
Bishops Lodge; the Historic poster session will be on view in the
Turquoise Room; dancers fromTaos Pueblo will provide entertainment.
Children will be given a special treat with their own picnic and
entertainment by the Bishops Lodge staff.
Sunday evening the conference members and companions are invited to
the Lensic to hear the wonderful voices of the Santa Fe Opera
Apprentices, who will sing excerpts from different operas. |
